M. Wischnjewsky was observing a photo of IC 5179 (this galaxy in -36 declination) when she noticed 1999ee on Oct 7th. Maximum brightness was expected to be around mag 15.0, on or around Oct. 11th. Perth Astronomical Research Group was observing this SN, when they noticed 1999ex in the same galaxy. This one is a type Ic, and on the rise. Two SN in the same galaxy at the same time is a VERY rare event, the last time this happened was 1996bw and 1997W in NGC 664, just two years ago, and this galaxy is much closer.
