Supernova 2006mq in ESO 494-G26

sn06mq_i.gif Discovery by Lick Observatory Supernova Search (USA).   This was is a very bright type Ia which some distance for the large, slightly suothern, and nearby host galaxy.   It is currently down as the thrid brightest of the year.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the Mr. Itagaki's discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Puppis.
