Supernova 2006gi in NGC 3147

sn06gi_i.jpg Discovered by Koichi Itagaki (Japan).   This one is a type Ib place some distance from the core of the host galaxy (Population II star).   This is the third supernova found in this galaxy.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Draco.
