This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2005ew in an anonymous galaxy.   Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page.  Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the updates and links web pages.

sn05ew_i.jpg Discovered by Nearby Supernova Factory (USA).   Most of the supernovae found by the Nearby Supernova Factory are faint and almost impossible to find.   However this one is amazing bright, especially considering the brightness of it's host galaxy.   This is a type Ia found young.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Perseus.
