Welcome to the Boneyard.   On this page you will find entries for objects that have been confirmed as Cataclysmic variables, asteriods (otherwise known as Vermin of the sky), or some other non extragalactic event.   Why keep them around? Because you never know when something like this will come back to life...

Vermin of the sky entomology:
• * - A star (not variable)
• AGN - Active galactic nucleus
• Blazar - Oriented Quasar
• BL Lac - Type of variable star
• CV - Celestial Variable (variable star in this galaxy)
• Flare - Flare star - small Type M stars often flare
• galaxy - Spectrum was the sepectrum of a galaxy, not an SN
• HII - HII region (gas cloud) in a galaxy
• HP - Hot Pixel - Flaw on imager (I also catagorize other imager issues here)
• HPM - High Proper Motion (fast moving star)
• LPV - Long Period Variable
• MP - Minor Planet (asteroid)
• Nova - Galactic Nova
• NT - Nuclear transient (AGN, QSO, etc)
• QSO - Quasi Stellar Object
• Quasar - confirmed QSO
• unconfirmed - It was discovered, but nobody could confirm the discovery
• YSO - Young Steller Object
