Supernova 2003cg in NGC 3169

sn03cg_i.gif This one was found by amatures Koichi Itagaki (Japan) and Ron Arbour (UK).  Note that Itagaki's name is spelled incorrectly in the IAUC.  NGC 3169 is very near the equally bright NGC 3166.  This one is a subluminous type Ia found near maximum. We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the KAIT image.
