Given the turning of the Millenium, ISN is celebrating the advances of amateurs (both past and future) by offering prizes for supernova discoveries during the year 2000.

Three prizes will be offered.

One prize will be given to the amateur who finds the most supernovae during the year.

Another prize will be given to *each* person who discovers their first supernova during the year. 

The third prize goes to the three people who submit the most magnitude estimates / measurements to ISN for extant supernovae over the year.

The prize for the most supernovae will be three nights of remote or on-site observing on either Tenagra Observatories' 20" or 32" automated telescopes, each equipped with a 1024X1024 SITe based camera and filter wheel.

Those who discover their first supernova during 2000 will be given a full night's usage of either telescope. 

The top three people with the most magnitude measurements submitted to ISN will each receive a full night's usage of either telescope. 

Prize winners will be awarded time at Tenagra Observatories' discretion based upon its research schedule. There is no need to enter the contest.  ISN will, as usual, track discoveries as they happen.

We hope to offer additional prizes from vendors pending discussions.  This offer is not open to webmasters of ISN or their families.
