Bright Supernovae pages - Updates 1998

This file is an archive of all of the changes which have been made to the Bright Supernovae pages in 1998 (which is when I started logging them). As the pages evolve, some of these internal links may not work, but they will point to the current versions of all of the files. One of the basic policies of creating web pages is that once you create something, you don't move it.

12/31/98
• Updated a couple of links on the links page from the latest Astronomy Picture of the Day for 12/31/98
• Updated the entries for 1998ey and 1998es for IAUC 7078.
• Added a link for the Visnjan Observatory Supernova Search Group. Added images from this page to the 1997cw and 1997cx entries.
• Added an image to the 1993J and 1994I from Jack Newton's SN page
• Added a Mark J. Cox image to the 1994I page
• Added a Doug Miller image to the 1998bu page.

• Added an HST image of 1994D from Astronomy Picture of the Day for 12/20/98
• Added a link to Supernovae and their Remnents to the links page.
• Moved all of the SN discoverd in July of 1998 to the 1998 SN page. Modified the 1998dh page accordingly
• Added an image of 1997ei from Gianluca Masi's galaxy images page.

• Added the type of 1998fa.
• Updated the magnitued of 1998ey and 1998es from the latest VSNet data.
• Added a John Stanford image to the 1998bu page.
• Added a John Sanford image and a Simon Kemp image to the 1998S page.
• Added a link to OCA Image Gallery from the links page.
• Added the Lick 1998fa Discovery image to the Main page.

• Fixed a few more AUDE links on several pages.
• Added several images to the 1996 SN, 1997 SN, 1998 SN, 1998S, and 1998eg pages from "The Astronomer" mag Variables, Novae and Supernovae Images page.
• Updated the 1996 SN, 1997 SN, and 1998 SN pages for Frame compatability.
• Updated the main page with information from IAUC 7077

• Added images of 1998es, and 1998ey from Stéphane and Didier Morata Supernova images page
• Fixed a type-o in the 1998bu page (I had spelled "discovery" wrong (Never could spell anyway!))

• Updated Ron Arbour's 1998ey images's comments per his instructions.

• Merry Christmas!
• Ron Arbour sent me a christmas gift of two images of 1998ey including the discovery image. I put them (two combined images) on the 1998ey web page.
• Added several images to the 1998es page from L'Observatoire ,Perpignan Les Images del la 1998es page

• Updates the links on the 1998ey, 1998es, 1998dh, 1998bu, 1998aq, and 1998S pages to point to the new AUDE SN pages.
• I have just purchased a new computer, which came with new software. For some reason this new software decided that all of the non English accents in all of the files that I had download with it had to be replaced. I had to re-do the 1998ey and links pages for this reason.

• Added images of 1996X, 1996aa, and 1996ae from Poyet's Supernova Monitoring.
• Added two images of 1998es from Latest Pictures of Novae and Supernovae

• Removed the "Discovery image" of 1998ex at NED from the Main page. It turns out to be a copy of a Digital Sky Survey Images from Jan. 29, 1955 (According to the FITS header).
• Modified Nicholas Suntzeff's image of 1998bu to point to his new Supernova page and, with his permission, added an in-lined smaller version to the 1998bu page.
• Also added a light curve, a finder image, and a paper about 1998bu from Nicholas Suntzeff
• Built a web page around a Phil Sullivan image of 1998bu as I removed his comments from that page.
• Added a link to the High Redshift Supernova Search on the Links page.
• Fixed a bad link on the 1998aq page.
• Relinked the AAVSO Supernova Search Manual.
• Added a G.Sala image of 1998ey from ISN.
• Relinked Enrico Prosperi's SNe Page, CCD Galaxy images, and Latest images pages.

• Added an image of 1998dh from Laszlo Kiss's recent images.
• Added a Marko Moilanen image to the 1998ey page. (still needs to be confirmed)
• Updated the 1998bu, 1998aq, and the 1998 SN pages to reflect data from IAUC 7070.

• After being sent an image of 1998ex by Hubert Lehmann I decided to add it to the main page even though it is dimmer than mag 17.5.
• Added an image of 1998ew which I found at NED
• Added a nice color image by Nicholas Suntzeff to the 1998bu page that I found on the Sky & Telescope News page
