Tim Puckett and B. Kerns as part of
the Puckett Observatory supernova search, and simultaniously by
LOTOSS.
We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.

The host galaxy of SN 2002ca is UGC 8521. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 15.0, but the reported magnitude does not changed for one day, which suggest that it would not be of type Ia in the early rising phase.
